Having gone through the Christmas Bash (10th), surviving Ando's ordeals and
drinks that give u internal bleeding, going back to work on Monday seemed
somewhat of a holiday!
But what happens when u mention the words 'Bart Man' (aka Alan) and 'second
Monday' in the same sentence? Yep... u know its ACE Cafe time!

Time was ticking and we were on a mission to do the last ACE all Fords meet
of 2005. Armed with all the electronics; Nav-Man incase we had to make a
detour due to Sharks Ville being on fire (Mike the Sharks residence... Hemal Hempstead and a Radar detector incase we were going over the speed limit where forces use Gatso's to fund their Christmas parties!. Flash Flash... Kerrr-ching ! 60quid and 4 points without even a thank you!.
Where was I... oh yeah, all techno'd up and we 'hoofed' it down the M1 in Al's GT. We got there in good time to be welcomed with a smoke filled sky of A406. The action was just starting at ACE corner!. Al obviously had to give it a bit as we went down the main strip.
Having parked up, we could barely see through the thick smoke but the smell
of burning rubber and the distinctive sounds of rev limiters, we knew we were in the right place!
Lots of nicely turned out cars in the car park once again and it was nice to
see 289 Mustang, which made an 'effortless' burnout when he left. A visit in
the cafe is mandatory as well as a cuppa but as I wasnt driving, an after
shock went down well and kept the cold at bay!
The mkII Escort boys once again stole the show with some nicely controlled
burnout's and sideways action. An intersting show by S.E.C Drift Performance
with their Cosworth Sierra which added more smoke in the air than the Hemal
Hempstead fire!
11.30pm, it was time to say farewell so Al decided to have a few goes of
'smoking' it. It was far too cold for the tyres but a second attempt was good enough to leave the Ace in a respectable cloud of smoke... untill 2006!
