The XR4Register at Charity Classic Show, Kimbolton - Sun 19th July 2009

It was that time again folks..the Charity Classic Show at Kimbolton.. A very important show as it raises funds for charity for the Sporting Bears club and it also gears us up for the our Town and Country festival!

This show is always a hit with one and all and it certainly didn't disappoint this year. The club stand was bigger than ever and that was due to our collaboration with XROC: East Anglian Branch. The XR4 Register and East Anglian combined stand was simply called the XR Stand.

One thing which didn't go down too well was the weather!, It was not too kind to us. Yes, we did have dry spells and sunshine but sadly it wasn't more than an hour or so and that was scattered throughout the whole of the day! So, apologies for the smudges on some of the pics in this report, those were the rain drops on the camera lens!

This show always has a fantastic range of classic, retro and modern cars as well as motorbikes and a few tractors too! Something for young and old at this event! The main arena had a few wash out displays but the sun did shine for a while to enjoy the rest of the displays, unfortunately the WW2 Fly-by decided to give it a miss this year.

Still, we all managed to dodge the showers. Most of us were bunched up underneath Bob's gazebo and others in their XR’s. But full marks go to Caz and Dave as they took shelter in the beer tent.. well if your going to be stranded out in our wet English summer, then you may as 'wet' your taste buds too! Hic!!!

Talking of taste buds, the BBQ has now become a 'must-have' at this event. It was a bit slow going but with Bhav's help, the smoke signals were bright and clear, letting everyone know it was feeding time for the motley crew ! Although Bob the head chef was in training for the Stoneleigh 3 day Festival, he managed to have the barby sizzling nicely in the rain and was serving up fully cooked burgers and sausages on demand! Burp...pardon us!!

Thanks to all the East Anglian XROC crew and the XR4 Register Motley crew. We hope the pictures will entice some new faces at this show, even with the wet weather; everyone had a good laff and an enjoyable day. However, all of us went home bit on the damp side !!! With or without a brolly...we will be here again in 2010.
