 Welcome to the XR4Register website

The XR4Register at Classic Ford Show 11th June

is the only way to describe Santa Pod's weather. It was a welcome sight after the previous no show 'wash out' at Enfield Pageant. No mud or rain was in sight at this show! Fingers crossed the weather continues for the rest of our shows.

We certainly had a well turned out stand and somehow we managed to squeeze 16 cars on. We were joined with quite a few new faces aswell, so welcome and thanks to Marcus C, Martin H, Derek K & Paul M. We hope our motley crew did not put you off & hope to see you at other shows during the season. A surprise visit from Ross L with his new 4be and James & Jo also popped along to support us. Thanks to Gary for bringing his gazebo, so we were able to give you guys double the amount of shade! Thanks to Sharon for sorting the BBQ food.

The XR4 Register Stand

The hose pipe ban certainly did not apply to Santa Pod as water was being sprayed onto the strip to cool it down as it was roasting. All the old skool Escorts, Capri's, Cortinas and the mad pickups & hot rods were entertaining everyone with their burn outs.

The Fire Force jet car also made a couple of runs and he certainly gave it some. Next time Dave W is going to buy his bacon roll after the run as he could not juggle eating his bacon roll and putting his greasy fingers in his ears at the same time!! Or perhaps it was the thought of Sharky, Matt & Kady buying some Santa Pod knickers that distracted him!!.

Our Boyz on the Strip were out in force with the usual Pablo and Al grudge Match. Although judging from the pic opposite Al was giving Pablo some stick before they even got onto the strip. Also joining them was Kev & Pikey. The thought of the XR8 going alongside a car with 2 pot missing was just too much to bear. Bhav eventually managed to get Pete 'Doh' to take his 4i (302 V8 powered) down the strip. It was a very close match. The first run was 'very very' close indeed. Both cars screeching but Bhav got early traction, Pete edging past, then the XR8 putting the torque down with The 302 in Pete's 4i gaining ! Poor Caz, she had no nails left after this run. A totally nail biting run from start to finish ! Only 0.022 seconds separated the winner Pete. Both of them enjoyed it tremendously and well done to everyone for taking part.

All cars survived the day and the best 1/4 mile times out of the 3 runs are as follows:

Al = 1/4 ET 16.811s (XR4i 2.8 V6 standard)
Pablo = 1/4 ET 17.446 (XR4x4 2.8 V6 standard)
Pikey = 1/4 ET 17.121 (XR4x4 2.8 V6 standard)
Kev = 1/4 ET 17.345s (XR4i 2.8 V6 tweeked)
Pete = 1/4 ET 14.213s (XR4i 302 ci V8 modified !)
Bhav = 1/4 ET 14.785s (XR8 302ci V8 standard)

Not only was it hot on the track, but the trade stalls were hot too ! A lot of genuine sellers with some very reasonable bargains, providing you had the time to walk round them ! We lost count after 8 very long double sided isles! If you resisted the temptation to look through the autojumblers then there were LOTS of cracking cars for everyone to admire. This show is certainly expanding. A massive Thanks from all of us at the XR4 Register goes out to Ian and his crew for sorting out another Brilliant Show!. Will we be going back ??? ...... We are already there!
