The XR4Register at the Ford Enthusiasts & Spares Day - Sun 22nd April 2007

It was good to see the return of the Spring Ford Enthusiasts Show at Donnington, due to the Super Bikes Championships, last year it was cancelled. However, this year it also clashed with the RS Central Regional Day at Santa Pod ! So, whilst some of the motley crew went to Santa pod, others came here with a list of bits and a fistful of dollars! (Click for RS Central Show Report)

New members Rachael & Chris joined us with their 2.0i XR4x4 along with Pikey in his 2.8i MkI XR4x4, Jerome with his 2.8i XR4i TT and Bhav with his 2.0 MKII XR4i. Once again, as a few clubs had let the organisers down, Neil of VCE gave us a large stand area and asked us to fill it. It worked out ok and there was plenty of room for the public to walk around our cars.

Not as many traders as normal as some of them went to the RS Central Regional day, nonetheless, there was a lot of quality bargains to be had. In fact, we had some traders reporting that a lot of the public had come from Santa Pod in order to get what they wanted !

Although we didn't theme this time round, the theme was 'Cars in Movies' and a lot of clubs had gone to a lot of trouble and expense to set up some fine stands. Well done to everyone that took part.

There was a lot of nice club stands there too with some very fine cars indeed! One that stood out this year was the Tickford OC stand with some very and rare examples on display.

Our own Gary and Sharon had their own stand with their Ford Pop. Freshly unveiled after its full interior refurbishment and graphics, it was certainly a big hit with the public. Gary 'Shriek' was grinning from ear to ear... err no change there then !

Thanks again to all those that came with their cars and all those that came to give us some moral support. A great show as always and yes, we will be there for the Winter Ford Enthusiast show so book your tickets now !
