 Welcome to the XR4Register website

The XR4Register at the Ultimate Ford Show 17th April 2005
New Event

If you read the mags and went by the Events Diary Listings then you would have ended up at Donnington on Sunday, however if you read the adverts the organisers splashed out on, in the SAME mags then you would have been at the very first ULTIMATE FORD SHOW at Stoneleigh Show grounds.

Also a first time that the XR4 Register has had 2 shows on the same date so we decided to do both. Some of the Motley Crew went to Santa Pod (click here for RS Central Show Report), the rest of the crew decided to go to the first Ultimate Ford Show at Stoneleigh.

Arranged by VCE (Ford Enthusiasts, Restoration Show etc), there were concourse and prize money up for grabs so we decided to enter a few of the 'spit n polish' boys in. Gengis, Norman and David A had their work cut out as they were all up against some stiff competition. Even though some of this was at Donnington!. Some peeps who didn't read the proper ADs in the mags and went by the whats on listings ended up at Donnington.

The Judging was done by the entrants in concourse so it was straight 1st, 2nd or 3rd choice and not down to technical merits. The placings were as follows: 1st: Ken Aitchison (mkIII Cortina), 2nd: Joe Little (mkI Escort) and 3rd: Norman Brooks (mkII XR4x4). Well done to every one.

The stand space given was just right and we managed to squeeze in 8 cars and 3 in concourse so a very good turn out. Joined by new member Paul Davies with his XR4i, we also had the 'Likely Lads' Paul and Alan, Pikey Pete, Roscoe, John Bell and Gengis with both cars.

As this was a new show, there wasn't a lot of traders etc but the ones that were there had some bargains and were certainly a lot cheaper than at other shows. The clubs and cars were varied with something from 'old skool' Cortinas & Escorts to the newest ST Fiestas and Mondeos. This certainly has promise of being a very good show once it has built up. It certainly has our support!.
