The XR4Register Profile - Bob Mildon

Ford Sierra 2.9 XR4x4

Photo Gallery for Bob's XR4x4

I purchased the car on 10th Nov 2003 from Battle in Sussex. This is quite local to me in Essex, compared to how far I had travelled to look at some right heaps. This one was built Jan 89 & registered first on 19th April 89. The car is in Radiant Red and I'm told; one of only nine built with a unique spec being six speaker audio system & light grey trim. It was also one of the first to be painted in Radiant Red as they changed from Rosso Red at this time.

When I got the car it had covered 84.000 miles and to date has covered another 13.000 miles. It's not in concours condition by a long shot but what I'd call a very good clean example. I have not had to spend too much on the car yet but if I had the money, I could soon spend it! So far I have fitted new set of Team Dynamic Pro Race 1, 17" alloys, new clutch as the original one was making funny noises when you pulled away and normal bits like pads, discs & servicing etc thats about it.

I would like to get it a bit nearer to concours if and when I have both the money and time, but that would mean cleaning and polishing all the time. As this is my only car and I use it everyday, I dont know if I can be bothered with that. I realy like the XR4X4 and think what other car can you get for the money with all the features of the XR4X4 Sierra?. I also owned a Mk1 2.8 for nearly 15 years prior to this one, so it shows how much I like them!.
