The XR4Register Profile - Pete 'Pikey' Hallam

Ford Sierra XR4x4 2.8 Turbo

I bought the car in Jan 1996 as a 'very clean' example only having 2 owners (me being the 3rd !). It was all 'standard' until a Sierra xr4x4 with a 'Janspeed' Turbo conversion came my way. Having decided that my garden wasn't big enough for 2 sheds, the britool tool kit came out and my well pressed overalls!

After working on it for over a fortnight, (some of us work for a living), the red car came out of the garage with some extra 'ponies' under the bonnet. I thought the car was 'pretty quick' before, now it was just WOOOAH!. It don't half Kick you in the back (got the horse shoe mark to prove it !)

This car still looks totally bog standard from every angle (even has the 14" Factory alloys !) but it has sub standard performance, just ask the guy with silver XK8 !

Future plans ? Well, that engine what's been sitting on the bench needs to be fitted. After 3 yrs of being laid up (the car!), the finances now will allow me to sort the turbo out 'properly' allowing it to be bolted to the new engine giving me many years of trouble free motoring (fingers crossed).

Engine 2.8 V6 with 'Janspeed' turbo conversion. Turbo T4 Hybrid running a lazy 8psi boost which gave 250 bhp on a blueprinted engine (Janspeed figures), custom made intercooler.
