Rear Suspension
I decided it was time to see what horrors I would find when I stripped out the rear suspension.
With everything removed from the centre and rear of the car I got down and
very dirty with the Gunk and cleaned the underside. The underside of the car
was in very good condition for a 22 year old car with only minor rust in
some areas which I shot blasted (Cheers Dave for the loan of the shot blasting equip/compressor) away and treated with rust killer.
I found that the inner wing around the fuel filler neck was rotten and so was the very lower part of the rear wings below the bumper line, but this will be dealt with next year.
With the rust dealt with, the underside was undersealed and painted silver. The rear suspension was replaced with a 4x4 disc set up but for now will not be powder coated or rebushed as I want to get the engine sorted.
The transmission tunnel has been modified to take the MT75 4x4 gearbox and the floor has now all been painted.
