The XR4Register at the Country Festival, Stoneleigh Park - 23,24,25th August 2008

XR4 Register Teaser Trailer...

The Front Row...
The Cone strikes again!...
The Waltons...
The Entertainment...

Well another T&C show done and dusted for another year, thanks to all who attended this year. First things first a big thanks to all those who helped to set up the stand prior to the show. With all 8 cars positioned on the stand the Country festival was about to open it's doors, we even had a celebratity chef 'James martin' visit our stand along the way.

With all hands to the deck we mananged to dismantle the stand and have time for one last BBQ on the Monday, a good team effort was in force. We also had some entertainment along the way... no not Bob and Dave again! but the Classic car stand opposite with their trailor sarga! The pics tell a thousand words (see Bhav's pics coming soon....)

The cone had it's annual outing and once again needs a year to recover!. No major casulaties this year bar from Caz, Bryoney & Hayley coliding in mid air on the cone but still plenty of cone fun to be had.

The cones first victim was John who was chilling out on the cone soaking up the sunshine minding his own business, unsuspecting that on the other side Dave, Bob and Ralph had other ideas!.

We even had a visit from Gengis's daughter Lucy who enjoyed the cone after dragging daddy Gengis round the fun fair.

Once the cars were all positioned it was cleaning frenzie on the XR4 Register stand, even Bhav gave his XR8 a quick once over but waited till Pikey's kids arrived to give his XR4i a brush up!. John's car received the Meguirs treatment and looked crisp by the time it was done. Dave as usual was giving his car the once over, not too sure how much paint will be left on the car at the rate he keeps cleaning it!. Ralph was giving his baby XR4 a clean to keep up with the XR4 lads. By the end of the 3 day festival Ralph was converted from a ST to a XR man once again.

Gengis was again giving his 4be a bit of a spit and polish ready for the concourse modified competition judges to give his car the once over. This year the awards for the motoring section were held in the main ring. We had a display of classic cars which went around the arena which the commentator gave a brief overview on and they all came to a lineup where the awards took place. The judges from the Midland Sport and VW club made their inspection of all the cars which entered during the day, but unfortunately Gengis did not come in the top three, Congratulations went to 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners all owners from the Midland Sport stand.

Sat Evening's Entertainment

Saturday evening went off with a swing the weather was fine for the BBQ and then the heavens opened later in the evening so we all resided in the caravan's awing. With Hannah's music choice we were all singing and shaking some moves... some more than others!!

Chinese Outing - 'All you can eat'

Sunday eve was the outing to the 'all you can eat' chinese restuarant which was as ever very yummy. Where everyone had eyes bigger than their bellies.

Awaiting more pics to follow from Bhav's camera...be scared be very scared!!!
