 Welcome to the XR4Register website

The XR4 Register at Town & Country Festival, 27-29th August 2005

Everyone was eagerly awaiting this from last year and before we knew it, it was here!. A few last min dashes by Caz, Bhav, Pete D, Jaffa & the wheels were all in motion! . Yes it was Town & Country Festival, a 3 day Bank holiday extragavanza!.

Nearly all the ingredients to make it a funfilled Bank Holiday was sorted (Music, Booze and food!) but there was one thing that would make it or break it, the weather!. It was really bad leading up to the show and Caz had her doubts but Bhav had faith so the final ingredient was set in place!. All this and no themeing was asking for trouble as there was nothing to hold the motley crew back!

Firstly we would like to thank all those who helped set up the stand on Thursday and Friday. Jaffa for the loan of the artic with our appreceation going out to Chambers and Cook Freight Ltd. Alan for sorting out the flooring, Gengis & Bob for setting up the Marquee and Kerstin for making the tea on a very cold and wet Thursday evening!. Thanks also to the motely crew & the XR4 Groupies for attending and making this a 3 day event to remember. Or perhaps we should say a 3 day event we will never be able to forget!. It just wouldnt be same without you lot!. We hope it didnt put Bob off as it was his first outing with us... Talk about being thrown in at the deep end!!.

A warm welcome was given to Ralph, Sharron, Bryony & Hayley (XROC East Mids), and their friends who had such a good time the first day that they came back for some more XR4 fun. Yet again Ralph was supporting his branch on his tod but thanks to stuart (XROC West Mids)and his XR3, together with Ralph's XR2i & all the XR4's surrounding them, it all worked out well.

There was lots to see and do, on and off our stand providing you were sober enough, as there was lots to eat and drink (hic)!. From Laser clay pigeon shooting to the 4 wheel Drive experience on the off road course. From the food halls to drink stalls... no wonder some peeps came back more drunk then when they left us!.

The nightly entertainment was only a stones throw away...literally!. Yes, it was the Fair Ground!. In one session the Dodgem Cars were taken over by the XR4 Register crew!. Road rage takes on a totally different meaning here!.

The most fun and perhaps the most painful was the Giant Bouncy castle!. Bhav negotiated with the owner and wangled it so that it was a XR4 Register Adults only session. No kids under 15 were allowed. Strange how all the adults suddenly transformed into 10 to 14 year olds when let loose on Giant Castle!. Jumping from 60 feet high and landing on the slide was a sure fire way of grazes & burns but the adrenaline made us forget ... till the next day at least when the words 'I want my mummy' came to mind!.

But it didn't stop there...we always told the kids off for bouncing on our Giant cone but this time the big kids took over!. Our poor cone was getting a right battering!. Good job its only out once a year as it takes it that long to recover!

Last but by no means least we had two birthdays to celebrate in XR4 Reg fashion. Last min dot com dash by caz for a cake and some balloons and we were ready for the unsuspecting souls. We managed to send Lisa off with the Andersons so we could dash around with banners and blowing the balloons up. Pikey who had fallen out of his caravan on the Sat and sprained his ankle (that was before any drink!!) managed to hobbled over for the supprise celebration. The cake was in true XR4 Register style with 25 years for Lisa and 60 for Pikeys waistline!!!
